About Us

The collecting of the artworks began in 1972.

 Gordon Syron began  painting in prison. Our earliest Syron painting is a 1974 oil landscape painting on timber.

Elaine Syron bought the earliest bark painting in 1972.

Judgement By His Peers oil on canvas was painted in 1978.
David Gulpilil, oil on canvas was painted in 1987-88.
Deaths in Custody, a series was painted in 1993.
Deaths In Custody paintings and photographs curated by Jane Raffan NSW Parliament House,
first joint exhibition by Elaine and Gordon.
Official  opening of DQ Art on Oxford, 
Art gallery opened by Elaine to show the works of Gordon Syron's pioneering protest art.
